Llewelyn Ash (SA)

Llewelyn Ash has been working in glass for several years, learning to blow glass at the University of South Australia. Being guided and mentored by Gabrielle Bisetto and tutored by Tim Shaw, Llewelyn created his own unique and distinctive style. Prior to discovering glass he painted and created etchings from drawings. Llewelyn now incorporates his printmaking designs onto glass using the graphic qualities of line to express ideas. His work has been exhibited nationwide and he also works at JamFactory as the Glass Studio Commissions Manager.

Rolf Barfoed (ACT)

Rolf Barfoed is a Canberra-based furniture designer and maker. Trained under leading craft practitioners in Australia and England, his work is characterised by functional design and a passion for craftsmanship that can be seen and felt in each piece he makes. He established his Fyshwick studio in 2014.

Danielle Barrie (SA)

Danielle Barrie is a jewellery and object designer and maker currently based in a shared studio at JamFactory, Adelaide South Australia. Danielle graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Visual Arts Specialisation (Jewellery & Metal) in 2015. In 2017 Danielle completed the two-year Associate training program in JamFactory's Jewellery and Metal Design studio, she is currently the Production Manager of the Metal Studio at JamFactory.

Kristel Britcher (SA)

Kristel is an Adelaide-based glass artist based at JamFactory. Her art practice explores the notions of space, landscape and the natural order of things through sculptural applications of hot glass; while her design practice explores alternative processes to create innovative glass products. Kristel graduated with first class Honours from the South Australian School of Art in 2007. Since graduation she has exhibited throughout South Australia and interstate, including the Ranamok Glass Prize, Object Gallery's Annual Manual, and was selected to exhibit at Hatched 08 National Graduate Exhibition at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art in 2008. Kristel received the 2010 Fleurieu Youth Scholarship Prize and the Carclew Youth Arts Ruth Tuck Scholarship in 2012. She completed the JamFactory Associate program in 2011 and is currently the Head of JamFactory’s Glass Studio.

Andrew Carvolth (SA)

Andrew Carvolth is an Adelaide based craftsman, designer and Alumnus of JamFactory’s Furniture Studio. Andrew’s passion for craft, process and materials drives his intuitive design practice. Andrew produces speculative works that exhibit nationally and internationally. Andrew is currently the Head of JamFactory’s Furniture Studio.

Rhys Cooper (NSW)

Rhys Cooper is a NSW Central Coast based designer and Alumnus of JamFactory’s Furniture Studio. Rhys is driven to create dynamic and original work that is a harmonious balance between artistic integrity and producibility.

Karen Cunningham (SA)

Karen Cunningham is a South Australian glass artist based in Canada. Karen is an Alumnae of JamFactory’s Glass Studio, completing the Associate Training program from 2006 – 2007 and became the Creative Director of JamFactory’s Glass Studio from 2011 – 2019.

Daniel - Emma (SA)

Daniel Emma is the Adelaide-based design studio founded by Daniel To and Emma Aiston in 2008. They design furniture, objects and homewares and have worked with brands such as Hay (Denmark), Field (USA) and Tait (Australia). In 2014 To and Aiston became Creative Directors of JamFactory’s product and retail activities, and in 2019 became Creative Directors overseeing business operations in JamFactory’s four studios.

Golshad Asami

Golshad Asami (Goli) is a Persian artist and ceramic engineer from Iran. After studying a Masters of Ceramic Science Engineering at Esfahan University of Iran in 2007, Goli began working at the Esfahan porcelain factory. Goli moved to Adelaide in 2019 and currently works as the Research and Development Manager in the Ceramics Studio at JamFactory. Within this position, Goli works on designing new products, developing new techniques including slip casting, and testing glazes.

Phoebe Kretschmer

An Australian artist working and living on Kaurna Land. Phoebe completed a Bachelor of Interior Architecture in 2011, relocating to Vancouver, Canada, 2015 where she studied ceramics for three years through mentor, Hidenori Ebina. Phoebe currently works as Production Manager in JamFactory Ceramics Studio. Drawn into clay by human connection with earth, and the freedom of clay's transition, her work draws on inspiration from nature, repetitive patterns, organic forms and human touch; finding beauty in the perfectly imperfect.

Liam Fleming (SA)

Liam Fleming completed his specialisation in Glass at the University of South Australia in 2011. Interested in the intersection of glass and music, his works are dynamic, incorporating movement or capturing a frozen moment in an ever-changing sonic landscape. Liam has extended his skills as a designer and glass artist through completion of the Associate Training Program at JamFactory, as well as many workshops with renowned artists and designers. He has exhibited locally and nationally, and currently works as the Studio Design Manager of the Glass Studio at JamFactory.

Adam Goodrum (NSW)

Adam Goodrum is a Sydney-based designer working across mass-produced, limited edition and one-off pieces. He has won numerous design awards and has designed for brands including Cappellini (Italy), Norman Copenhagen (Denmark), Tait (Australia), Cult (Australia), and Dessein (Australia).

Christian Hall (SA)

Christian Hall is an Australian designer and maker. Originally trained in object and jewellery design, his practice now encompasses furniture and industrial design, sculpture and jewellery. Christian held the position of Creative Director of the JamFactory Jewellery & Metal Design Studio from 2009 to 2018.  Christian is an active independent design and maker in his own right whose work sits confidently at the nexus of art and design.

Ashlee Hopkins (SA)

Ashlee’s craft-based practice is rooted in the rigour of repetition but expands into spaces of spontaneity and solitude. Her training as a production potter revolved around the craft of reproducing a single object as accurately as possible in quantities of sometimes hundreds. Her recent works explore how ignoring this training can allow her mind and body to create new objects that stand alone - perhaps with similar counterparts but never copies. Ashlee is currently the Production Manager of the Ceramic’s Studio at JamFactory.

Deb Jones (SA)

Deb Jones was born in NSW and graduated from the Canberra School of Art with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 1992. She then moved to Adelaide where she completed the two-year Associate training program in the JamFactory Glass Studio. In 2005 she co-founded Blue Pony Studios and in 2007, opened a new studio, Gate 8, with fellow glass artist Jessica Loughlin. A significant glass artist, Jones has completed many public and private commissions and her works are held in public collections including Art Bank, The National Gallery of Victoria, The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and the Australian National Parliamentary Library in Canberra. Jones’ work as an artist and designer responds to the beauty of the glass she uses, employing a minimalist sensibility and strong belief in the mentality of ‘less is more’. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, making and designing just about anything.

Stephanie James-Manttan (SA)

Stephanie James-Manttan is an Adelaide based ceramicist and JamFactory Alumna. Stephanie  creates sculptural ceramics highlighting the natural qualities of the materials. Stephanie currently works as the Head of JamFactory ‘s Ceramics Studio.

Rowsaan (VIC)
Based in country Victoria, Rowsaan is a metalsmithing practice by partners Rowan McLachlan and Saan Davidson. Drawing on traditional silversmithing and blacksmithing techniques, the pair have translated their skills in jewellery design to create contemporary objects and homewares.

Bastien Thomas (SA)

Originally from France, Bastien came to JamFactory in 2017 to further his glass blowing and design skills, and identify himself as a practicing glass artist. After completing three years of study at France's national glass school, Lycee Jean Monet, Bastien undertook a six month residency at Carmaux's Glass Museum and then spent a year working under French glass artist Cyril-John Rousseau. Bastien is inspired by the beauty of glass and enjoys applying intricate details such as cracks, cane work and engravings to simple organic and geometric forms. Bastien is the recipient of the 2017 JamFactory - Corning Museum of Glass Scholarship.

Dean Toepfer (SA)

Furniture and lighting designer Dean Toepfer is committed to producing quality, functional, and honest designs with an emphasis on detail and originality. His interests lie in the exploration of material, shape, and form, seeing how each one can interact and coincide. Stripping back all unnecessary elements, Dean has developed his practice into a multi-faceted design studio driven by the interrelationship between material, tool, and process. With a studio based at JamFactory, his projects range from furniture and lighting through to object and exhibition design.

Andy Nowell is an award winning photographer with over 15 years experience working as a chef, restauranteur and content creator. With a deep understanding of composition, styling and light Andy has the ability to strengthen your brand through photography in an ever growing visually driven society.

Billie Justice Thomson

Billie Justice Thomson’s work reflects her obsession with nostalgic and iconic food imagery. Known for her paintings on glass and perspex and in watercolour, her work pays homage to the kitschy delights of eating, drinking and the day to day miracles of existence.
